Clean Path NY

We recently hosted a conversation on pathways forward on tackling the climate crisis.  The discussion, titled A Case Study for Climate Solutions: Clean Path NY, was hosted by actress and Earth Day Initiative board member Alysia Reiner and included discussion of the challenges we face and how large-scale projects like Clean Path NY can provide a road map for the kind of massive shift toward renewable energy we need if we want to hit our climate targets.

Check out the full conversation below.

A message from our partners at Clean Path NY:

We’re building a stronger New York through renewable energy.

Clean Path NY is a bold clean infrastructure project that couples massive amounts of new renewable generation with state-of-the-art transmission technology to provide clean energy to communities that need it most. Upon completion, Clean Path NY will deliver nearly 8 million megawatt-hours of emissions-free energy every year--eliminating 49 million tons of CO2 emissions by 2040 and reducing fossil fuel-fired electric generation in New York by 22 percent annually.

To make real positive change for our energy future, Clean Path NY isn’t just investing in New York – we're investing in New Yorkers. To support a just transition away from fossil fuels and deliver meaningful climate justice outcomes, Clean Path NY will make direct investments in communities across the state prioritizing workforce development, education, community health, and environmental stewardship. By connecting you to New York’s own wind and solar power, you’ll breathe cleaner air and plug into renewable, reliable power. Clean Path NY is a partnership between the New York Power Authority (NYPA), Invenergy, and energyRe.
